Katy and Lorianne have known each other since childhood — long before insurance was ever part of the conversation. What began as family evolved into a professional partnership spanning more than two decades, including growing a start-up from the ground up and ultimately founding Seed Insurance Group together. That shared experience has shaped a working relationship grounded in trust, shared values, and high standards.
At Seed Insurance Group, clients benefit from that stability through transparent communication, steady guidance, and relationships built for the long term.

With more than thirteen years as a licensed insurance professional, Katy brings both experience and perspective to Seed Insurance Group. She has been instrumental in three start-up ventures, including building and developing a Property & Casualty division from the ground up.
Having helped grow businesses from their earliest stages, Katy understands the realities business owners face — the risk, the responsibility, and the long-term vision required to build something that lasts. She approaches each client relationship with steady guidance, thoughtful coverage strategy, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
Katy lives in Florissant, Colorado, with her husband and Seed co-founder, Evan, and their three boys. Together, they also co-founded Seed the Need, a nonprofit focused on meeting urgent community needs and expanding into Restoration Ridge — a retreat space dedicated to providing rest and renewal for pastors, missionaries, and military families.
Lorianne Slack | Vice President
Lorianne is a U.S. Navy veteran with more than twenty years of experience helping businesses build structure and operate with clarity. She has a natural instinct for identifying inefficiencies, tightening processes, and implementing systems that make things work the way they should.
At Seed Insurance Group, Lorianne oversees operations while also working directly with clients. She values clear communication, thorough execution, and getting things done right the first time. Her approach is steady, practical, and rooted in accountability — both internally and with the businesses she serves.
Lorianne lives in Lewisville, Texas, close to her “baby-adult” children. She’s embracing life as a quasi-empty nester while continuing to build both Seed Insurance Group and Seed the Need alongside Katy.
